Bond buyers fear market volatility, not a recession, fund flows show

Some have cited last week’s rally at the long-end of the bond market as a sign investors are increasingly unsure over the U.S. expansion’s health after the stock market’s autumn tumble. Instead, the slump in long-dated yields, and higher debt prices, reflects a classic flight-to-safety response among traders and other investors preparing for an extended regime of higher market volatility next year, said market participants.
