The New York-based company said it had net income of $1.17 per share. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, came to $1.54 per share.
The results matched Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was also for earnings of $1.54 per share.
The ingredients producer for food, cosmetics and consumer products industries posted revenue of $907.5 million in the period, topping Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $891 million.
International Flavors expects full-year earnings in the range of $6.25 to $6.45 per share, with revenue in the range of $3.95 billion to $4.05 billion.
International Flavors shares have decreased slightly more than 4 percent since the beginning of the year, while the Standard & Poor's 500 index has climbed slightly more than 2 percent. In the final minutes of trading on Monday, shares hit $146.03, a decrease of 1.5 percent in the last 12 months.
