Brad Tuttle

Memorial Day sales are in full effect at two stores that will help you tackle weekend projects this summer: Home Depot and Lowe’s.

If you’re in the market for a new lawnmower, barbecue grill, or patio set, right now’s a great time to hunt for deals. There are also some excellent discounts on tools, paints, and stains. And of course there are mulch deals at Home Depot and Lowe’s right now — because mulch sales, with discounts of nearly 50%, have become standard whenever these home improvement retail giants roll out a big sale.

Here are the best deals at Lowe’s and Home Depot Memorial Day 2019 sales.

When Lowe’s announces a big sale — for Memorial Day, Labor Day , or “Spring Black Friday” — a $2 mulch deal is usually part of the bargain. Sure enough, the Lowe’s Memorial Day sale features $2 bags of mulch in red, black, or brown. The normal price for these 2-cubic-foot bags of hardwood mulch is $3.66 each, so the discount represents a savings of 45%.
